"WINE: AROMAS AND FLAVORS – SENSATIONS FOR EVERYONE": A SENSORY AND INCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE AT THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 4:30 PM, the evocative setting of the "Dina Bellotti" Botanical Garden at Via Monteverde 24 will host an event entitled "Wine: Aromas and Flavors – Sensations for Everyone."

The initiative, promoted by the Department of Participation and Associations of the Municipality of Alessandria, aims to explore the world of wine—a treasure of our region—its botanical and flavor profile, its flavors, and sensations, so that everyone can learn about, experience, and appreciate them.

The heart of the event will be a unique blind tasting: thanks to special masks donated by the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Alessandria, participants will be guided through a blind exploration of the glass. Disabling visual perception will amplify taste, smell, and touch—the three senses that work synergistically together to define the structure, aromas, and harmony of a glass.

The presence of Vito Intini, National President of ONAV (National Organization of Wine Tasters), will further enhance the event.

The initiative, realized thanks to the collaboration of numerous local organizations—the Alessandria Chamber of Commerce, ONAV since 1951, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Alessandria, the Bosco Marengo Santa Croce Lions Club, the Obertengo Order of the Knights of Raviolo and Gavi, the "Donne dell'olio" Association of Alessandria, and Eleonora Cuttica's "Senso Attivo"—represents a fundamental step in the collaboration between institutions and society, laying the foundation for future itineraries dedicated to oil, the essences of nature, and sensory perceptions, which find the atmosphere of the Botanical Garden the ideal context for connecting botany and food and wine culture.

The event was also supported by the "Produttori del Gavi" and "Tre Secoli" cooperative wineries of Ricaldone, the "La Dolce Vito" pastry shop of Spinetta Marengo, and the Actis bakery of Alessandria.
