Acqui Terme, situated in the region of Monferrato, on the left bank of the River Bormida at 154 m a.s.l., was an important center in Roman times, renowned for its hot springs rich in therapeutic properties. Events in Acqui Terme and surroundings
The city and the surrounding area is animated by numerous events every year. Not to be missed are the Mercatino degli Sgaientò every 4th Sunday of the month, dedicated to antiques, second-hand and collector’s items. In June, there is “Acqui Romana” – a cultural and commemorative weekend with guided tours, food and wine and much more to relive the great history of the Roman Empire, continuing in July with the Fiera of San Guido, Acqui Wine Days in August. The second last weekend of November hosts the fair dedicated to Saint Catherine, while the 3rd weekend the food and wine event Acqui & Sapori e Mostra regionale del Tartufo with an exhibition of local products, high quality truffles, wines, craftwork and wine show.
