In 1964 in Alessandria, Margherita and Giovanni Cane inaugurate Grissinificio ValPadana.
Fascinated by their invaluable experience in cereal cultivation and in catering they understand that the secret for producing a high-quality breadstick is selection of the best ingredients and respect for traditions. The business continues with Claudio, Carlotta and Giovanni who decide to celebrate the first 40 years in business (in 2004) by choosing to convert the name of one of the iconic recipes of the breadstick factory into a brand: PAN DEI MASSI. The name “Pan dei Massi” comes from the millstones of the ancient flour mills of Piedmont: the work of the “millstones” produces the flour, main ingredient of the breadsticks.
