Italy, cradle of ancient farming traditions, boasts excellent rice cultivation, rooted in dedicated territories like Piedmont. A favorable climate, cutting-edge cultivation techniques and a rigorous selection of the varieties produce Italian rice renowned for its excellent quality and appreciated worldwide. A culinary heritage which embeds its roots in history and passion for the land.

Imagine arriving in the heart of the plain, north of Monferrato, lapped by the River Po, a land of rice paddies as far as the eye can see, interrupted only by rows of poplar trees and ancient farmhouses.

The visit to the rice mill begins with a dive into the history of the company founded in 1900. The owner will tell you all about the ancient traditions, the gentle and complex processing activity (with flooding in spring and the spectacular view of the "checkered sea"), the cultivation techniques, and the development of the farming machinery.

The heart of the experience is the discovery of the different rice varieties: Carnaroli, Arborio, Baldo and Sant'Andrea, each with its own characteristics. Learn to distinguish them in terms of shape, dimension and texture.

This is followed by the eagerly-awaited moment, tasting a perfect risotto! In a cozy room you will taste rice of the highest quality, learn the secrets for cooking a perfect risotto and the different pairings with the ingredients (have you already tried risotto with the IGP Piemonte hazelnut?) The shop on-site sells rice and various rice-based preparations, but you will also find a wide range of local specialties.

At the end of the experience at the rice mill, visit and tasting at winery on the Grignolino Road / Food and Wine Road
