FAITH ART AND TRADITION AT THE SACRO MONTE OF CREA (Feat. THE FOOD AND WINE ROAD OF GRAN MONFERRATO)

The Sacro Monte UNESCO heritage site with its devotional route between 23 chapels and 5 hermitages as far as the Chapel of Heaven is a must-see site in Monferrato. Chapel 23 is the highest chapel of Sacro Monte and features 300 groups of figures hanging and frescoed on the vaulted ceiling! The guided tour includes the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Assumption which is home to the statue of the Black Madonna pilgrimage destination. Lunch is included with tasting of the typical mixed fry Piedmont style (don't be put off by the name, you won't be eating fish) accompanied by a bottle of Grignolino from the Grignolino Wine Road.
