There is a place, once shaped by agricultural rhythms and now reclaimed by the natural landscape, where biodiversity is not merely heritage to be observed, but an invitation to slow down and listen. The Spinarosa Botanical Garden, founded in 2016, emerged from the curator’s passion for the plant world: years of study, travel, creations and visits to botanical gardens in Italy and abroad have given life to a unique space that has become a reference point for lovers of nature, art, and contemplation.
Within this setting a rare and deeply immersive experience comes to life: a guided sensory journey “with eyes closed”, designed for all but with special attention to visually impaired visitors. Accompanied by a botanical expert, participants are taken on a journey to discover more than 1600 plant species, many of which are little known and organized into themed collections. A sensory journey through scents, textures, and shapes: from the most aromatic notes – sage, thyme, oregano, rosemary – to the collections of hellebore, strawberry trees, poisonous, medicinal, and aromatic plants. And again roses, oak, viburnum, bamboo, jasmine, passion flower, citrus fruits and cactus plants able to resist the most intense cold. A botanical mosaic which is not revealed by sight, but by touch, smell, and hearing.
The route lasts one hour and a half and concludes with a tasting of herbal teas prepared from plants grown in the garden, a moment of quiet reflection to appreciate the experience they have just enjoyed.
The journey ends in a restaurant immersed in nature. Guests will be welcomed with a taste of local products: a platter of local cured meats and cheeses – including the salame nobile of Giarolo and Montebore – accompanied by specialty baked goods and a glass of Timorasso DOC. An explosion of flavors and scents which dialogue with the sensory experience just concluded.
