The building's façade faces north, onto Piazza S. Tommaso.
The salient façade was redesigned into its current form in 1953, perhaps echoing medieval Romanesque forms.
It is surrounded by pilasters that divide the façade into three sections; the internal sections are covered with small tiles.
The double-height central section features a porch with round columns protecting the main door; in the upper section, an oculus is flanked by two single-lancet windows.
The side sections also feature entrance doors surmounted by sturdy tympanums.
The church has a three-nave plan, with two additional single-span side aisles.
There are barrel and cross vaults.
The presbytery is raised above the level of the nave and ends with a curvilinear dome.
The square-section bell tower is located on the right side of the apse.
The bell chamber features single-lancet windows on each side and is protected by a four-pitched spire.
