The Rifugio Pineta is owned by the parish of San Giorgio in Stazzano.

The facility was created to serve the parish's activities for children, primarily during the summer. This purpose has not diminished over the decades and continues to this day.

It has always been managed directly by the parish priest, assisted by community volunteers for both educational activities and the running of the shelter.

Today, a large group of adult volunteers and youth leaders run parish summer camps for children, teenagers, and adolescents.

All work is carried out in a spirit of service and volunteerism, allowing guests to enjoy the facility at a modest cost and in a family-friendly environment.

During periods not in use by the parish, the shelter is rented to third-party parish groups and charities, always in keeping with the pastoral work for which it was created.
