On the border between Piedmont and Lombardy, Guardamonte is home to numerous climbing routes: climbing in Guardamonte means climbing on stone waves, rock formations shaped by the sea millions of years ago. It is precisely the presence of these waves that makes the Guardamonte rock unique, climbing between slopes and rounded holds.

Guardamonte is an archaeological and naturalistic site on Mount Vallassa (752 m above sea level), on the border between the Piedmontese province of Alessandria and the Lombardy province of Pavia.
