Mira il Bello

A beautiful panoramic route winds through the countryside around the village of Mirabello, offering splendid views of the Monferrato hills. The itinerary consists of trails 614 and 618 and is marked with the acronym MIB (Mira il Bello).

Once you arrive in Mirabello, head to Piazza Marconi, near the Town Hall and the Church of San Vincenzo. From here, take Via Lanza (CAI trail sign 614 - MIB) and turn left onto Via Madonna. Shortly after leaving the village, you'll find the little church of Madonna della Neve, where you'll find the beautiful chapel. It's advisable to stop to appreciate the sacred site and the many votive offerings that commemorate the protection received from the locals.

Rejoin the gravel road that winds through the fields, reaching a crossroads where you must take the central road (on the left is the junction with variant 614a, which allows you to shorten the route). You will arrive at the enchanting Parish Church of San Giovanni in Mediliano, built between the 7th and 9th centuries, where it intersects with the MPC-602 route that connects San Salvatore Monferrato to the Sanctuary of Crea.

Continue straight on the road that runs parallel to the Grana stream for one kilometer, following the CAI 618 sign, with the village of Conzano on your right. Once you reach a hazelnut grove, leave the valley road and turn left, climbing to the crest of Colle Firata.

From the small road on the ridge, you can appreciate the stunning Monferrato landscape, with the hills where the villages of Conzano, Camagna, and Vignale are located, and on clear days, the Alpine arc forms a backdrop. After that stretch, turn left to discover a beautiful view of Lu, the village with its many churches and dominated by the tower.

Shortly after, turn left again, taking the downhill dirt road that passes near Cascina Annibalini and reaches the asphalt road, where you turn right, briefly overlapping trail MPC - 602 again. At the next fork, keep left and continue through the fields and woods to return to Mirabello square and complete the loop.

Take the SS31 state road that connects Alessandria and Casale Monferrato and arrive in Mirabello, where you can park in Piazza della Libertà.
