The history of the pharmacies in Alessandria is intertwined with that of the city. This is also the case with the Farmacia Centrale of piazzetta della Lega, which becomes the property of Dr. Carlo Zuccotti on 17 January 1958. He purchases it from Dr. Martina who in turn bought it from the Civera family, going back about
one century. In 1994, the damage caused by flooding forces initial restoration work which is completed in the summer of the following
year. In 2017, following the purchase of the property by the owners, the pharmacy takes on its current appearance, including renovation of the facility but with an attentive look to the traces of the past. In that building, at the beginning of the last century, there was the Banca Commerciale and the current, state-of-the-art warehouses, with a robotized system to transport the medicines to the upper floor, coexist with the vault of the historic credit institution of which traces remain: the exposed bricks and the narrow side walkways conserved by the architect Paolo Bellora, who approved the restoration work. Dr. Zuccotti works alongside his granddaughter, Angela Braggio.
