The shop, now property of Tommaso Cresta, was opened in 1878. Giulia Sacchi started the business and passed it on to her daughter and, later, her grandson Giulio Gambera.
The store was then sold to Gian Piero Cresta. It is December 1972 and, in those years, he is helped by his wife Ornella who still works with her son Tommaso who has become the owner of “Cresta di via San Lorenzo” following the death of his father in October 2019. From the late 19th century to the last century and then to the third millennium, the range of products for the thousands of customers who have passed in front of the crates of fruit and vegetables has essentially remained the same. Today, the Cresta family are no longer just greengrocers, they also sell high-quality products from egg pasta to jars containing mushrooms and grape pickle, all strictly locally-sourced.
