Po Landscape Interpretation Centre
Po-Sesia-Tanaro Confluence Special Conservation Area

It encompasses the municipalities of Frassineto Po, Valmacca, Bozzole, Valenza, Bassignana, Alluvioni Piovera, and Isola Sant'Antonio.
The site encompasses a vast section of the Po River basin and protects several natural river environments within a heavily anthropized area, largely dominated by agricultural rice paddies and poplar groves. Rare and protected aquatic plant species thrive in the oxbow lakes and ponds. Downstream from Casale Monferrato, the Po's most natural and wild side unfolds: the river, fed by the Sesia, Tanaro, and Scrivia rivers, shapes extensive gravel beds, islands, and oxbow lakes that support the presence of numerous wildlife species. The area within the site is also important for several mammal species.

Natura 2000 Network Code: IT1180027. Land area (ha): 4,061.00.
