The municipality of Occimiano is located at the foot of the Monferrato hills. The village has had a glorious past: in 1647, the Spanish undermined its fortifications; during the Second War of Independence, Victor Emmanuel II and the French Emperor Napoleon III met here. Occimiano features a porticoed center and the imposing Parish Church of San Valerio, dating back to the 15th century and featuring a 19th-century façade. From the historic center, you can take a stroll around Occimiano along the "Sentiero di Aleramo" (info attached).
