It lies to the right of the Curone stream, whose territory extends across both hilly slopes of the valley. Characterized by a predominantly agricultural economy, the village is immersed in a pristine landscape waiting to be discovered.
Also known for its marl quarries, it was first mentioned in 1220, during the reign of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia. A fiefdom of the Guidobono Cavalchini family from 1466 to the end of the 7th century, the village was overlooked by a castle that no longer exists.
