Mombello Monferrato, which still features the remains of its ancient fortifications, is known for nearby Mount Sion, which dominates a stretch of hills and churches. Between the 16th and early 19th centuries, it was home to the Franciscan monastery founded by Father Bonaventura Quarelli.

The village is crossed by the "Monferrato of the Burnt Castles" route, which links eleven municipalities in the Valcerrina for a total of 100 kilometers (on dirt roads and low-traffic paved roads). This route, immersed in nature, is rich in historical, cultural, and religious attractions, and features 35 churches, 8 castles, and countless enchanting views.
