The first village dates back to 1100-1200 BC, founded by a small Ligurian tribe: the Marici. Subsequently, the small town suffered Roman rule, Barbarian occupation, and the power of the princes of Milan (first the Visconti and then the Sforza) until 1600.
From 1600 to 1700, the Spanish dominated this territory, a period characterized by constant wars that also involved the House of Savoy and caused serious damage to the area.
At the beginning of the 18th century, this village passed to the House of Savoy; the following years brought French occupation under Napoleon, until 1814, when it returned to the House of Savoy.
The Parish Church of San Felice is a Romanesque-Gothic building with a curious spire bell tower, but the façade, recently restored, has a modern appearance.
