It is one of the peaks of the Mountain Community and watchtower of the Erro Valley. The scenery is breathtaking and the gaze sweeps to infinity, from the Langhe to the Ligurian Apennines and to the Alessandria plain, with the Alpine chain in the background from the Monviso to the Lombard mountains, accompanied by the scents of the medicinal herbs, and by the fragrances of peaches and strawberries, culinary delights of the town. Worthy of note is also the magnificent lavender field in summer with its magnificent scent and unmistakable color.

Its origin almost certainly dates back to the medieval period. At the time it was surrounded by a defensive wall, erected to give protection from the enemies. Continuous wars were fought between the various local lords and between the Genoese armies and those of the municipalities of the plain. It was also the battleground for the French and Spanish armies.

To visit: the fortified complex, of which a square based tower remains, the parish church of the Assunta, which is home to several paintings attributed to Pietro Ivaldi, painter from Ponzone, known as "the Mute" and Sant'Onorato, a small chapel located more than 1 km from the town.
