In Romanesque style, with three naves and octagonal bell tower leaning on the south apse. Built as the abbey church of the late monastery of San Pietro, bishopric foundation of the 11th century, on the area of a preceding early-Christian cemetery church, it was already reduced to a commandery at the end of the 15th century. In 1720, dividing the central nave, the Church dedicated to Vergine Addolorata was built. Deteriorated and largely degraded, after the First World War it was subject to heavy reconstructive restoration work aimed at returning it to its presumed original appearance. The apse and the base of the notable octagonal tower date back to the early medieval period. Inside, it houses a Deposition of the Lombard School, fresco dating to the mid-15th century, two 17th century canvases with The Crowning with Thorns and Jesus before Pilate, and the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows (1720 approx.)
