The life of the excellent perfumed strawberries of Tortona is too short: just twenty days a year. It is difficult to sell them fresh: the jams, like those of Cascina Folletto where the fruits are also offered in combination with anise and rhubarb, are better. Worthy of note are also the Merella chickpeas and the saffron, harvested rigorously by hand.
