In the late Sixties, Zaio, retailer of Pirelli products in Alessandria, decides to close down its historic shop in piazza Garibaldi. This store was known for selling industrial and household products, including the famous Pirelli raincoats. The Turin branch tried, in vain, to find a suitable successor to take over management.
The solution came with the candidacy of Gaetano Genova, an employee of Pirelli. Genova took the opportunity and, in November 1969, founded a new business called Ar.Te.Go. an acronym of “Articoli Tecnici di
Gomma”.
In 1992, Genova’s daughter Cristina joined the business, initially as an employee. Today, Cristina assists her father in managing one of the best- known shops of the city.


Over the fifty years, the two managers have changed the commercial orientation of the store, moving from industrial to household
articles.
