TRUFFLE EXPERIENCE WITH LAGOTTI IN THE TORTONA HILLS

At a Canine Center which Trains truffle dogs in the Tortona hills, discover the world and the territory of the Derthona Truffle by taking part in a truffle hunt in the natural truffle bed of the Biopark accompanied by an expert hunter and his faithful truffle dogs. Learn more about this underground mushroom and its search thanks to the information which will be given by the expert. You will also see the Lagotto Romagnolo dog in action, considered the best dog for truffle hunting, and discover how it is selected and trained.
Followed by lunch in a historical Restaurant in San Sebastiano Curone with local specialties and truffle dishes accompanied by the Derthona Timorasso wine, symbol of the area. In the afternoon, walk in the picturesque village and discover two well-known artists who were born here with the Piero Leddi and Felice Giani archives.




Possibility of truffle hunting at night with prices on request based on number of participants. Comfortable clothing, long trousers and closed shoes are recommended.
Duration of hunting activity – 3h

Truffle hunting with Lagotti Romagnoli can be carried out all year.
Different varieties of Truffles can be found depending on the season:
quality white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico) October / January
prized Black Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) December /March
summer truffle / Scorzone (Tuber Aestivum) June / September
