TO THE MUSIC OF TENCO IN BOSCO DELLE SORTI - 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS
01 June 2026 - 31 December 2027
3 days - 2 nights
Welcome to a corner of Southern Piedmont where unspoiled nature blends with the legacy of historic villages. A journey through the regenerating silence of Bosco delle Sorti, a protected area where century-old oaks whisper ancient stories and shaded trails invite visitors to walk at a leisurely pace. Leaving the dense woodland behind, the horizon opens onto the geometric vineyards of Ricaldone, the music village which cradled the soul of Luigi Tenco and now welcomes travelers with the intense fragrances of Moscato and Brachetto. The experience comes to a close among the medieval atmospheres of Cassine, where Gothic churches, silent cloisters and ancient noble buildings protect an artistic heritage of extraordinary beauty. Experiences which merge hiking in nature, the emotion of iconic songwriting, and the authentic flavors of a generous land.
day 1
Arrival in Ricaldone: this small Piedmont gem hosts the annual summer music festival L’isola in collina, dedicated to singer-songwriters and the memory of Luigi Tenco.
Walk through the village streets to discover small gems such as the Parish of Saints Simon and Jude Thaddeus, the 18th-century oratory, and the Municipal Theater.
In the heart of Ricaldone, the Luigi Tenco Museum is the first true museum and permanent documentation center in Italy entirely dedicated to a singer-songwriter. Housed in the evocative rooms of the former municipal nursery school, this intimate and captivating space is an emotional journey back in time, designed to preserve the memory and work of one of the most revolutionary artists in Italian culture.
The exhibition follows a chronological order that is deeply intertwined with the local area. The story begins with his happy childhood spent in the Monferrato hills, continues through his adolescence in Genoa, and culminates with the artistic maturity that has shaped the history of songwriting. Inside, you'll be surrounded by tangible memories: unpublished photographs, handwritten lyrics, portraits, books, and rare vintage items. A must-see for understanding how the poetic melancholy and power of his songs are inextricably linked to the generous land where he took his first steps.
Aperitif on the panoramic terrace to admire the sunset over the UNESCO World Heritage hills.
Dinner on your own and overnight stay in a farmhouse or scattered hotel.
day 2
Meet your nature guides in Cassine and embark on a hiking trail through the Bosco delle Sorti - La Communa, a Protected Natural Area and Site of Regional Importance (SIR).
This vast shared woodland area, stretching between the municipalities of Cassine and Ricaldone, is an intact fragment of primeval nature. Its name, linked to the ancient concept of collective ownership ("la communa"), evokes centuries of history when the local community lived in perfect symbiosis with the forest.
Walking along the trails of this Natural Park means entering a unique labyrinth of biodiversity. Beneath the dense canopy of ancient oaks, chestnut trees, common oaks, and Turkey oaks, the trail winds through gentle ups and downs, shady valleys, and small streams that create a regenerating microclimate.
Duration of the excursion: 3 hours – 10 km – Class T
Return and free time for lunch
In the afternoon, visit the Convent Complex of San Francesco with the Church of San Francesco: built between 1291 and 1327 by the Conventual Franciscan Friars Minor, this extraordinary exposed brick temple represents one of the rarest and most significant examples of Lombard Gothic architecture with Cistercian influences in Piedmont. Tradition holds that its construction was strongly supported by Robert of Anjou, King of Naples, to honor the memory of his brother, the Franciscan saint Louis of Toulouse. The walls are decorated with 14th- and 15th-century frescoes from the Lombard-Padanian school, evidence of the deep historical connection between the local noble families and the court of Milan.
Dinner with a local tasting menu at a tavern (drinks not included) / overnight stay in a farmhouse or multi-building hotel.
day 3
In Cassine, visit a beehive where you'll observe the tireless work of the bees and learn the secrets of beekeeping, before being captivated by the sweetness of Monferrato honey. Followed by a guided tour of the winery and a tasting of the area's iconic wines, amidst intense aromas and picture-perfect views.
