In Cabella Ligure, theater meets wine: on September 5th, the evening event "Stories of
Men and Wines" by and featuring Pino Petruzzelli
Theatrical narration, a guided tasting of Timorasso, and the valorization of the winemaking heritage of the Tortona Hills. The initiative is part of "Cabella Estate," a territorial
development project funded by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria as part of the TERRE BELLE 2026 Call for Proposals. CABELLA LIGURE, August 21, 2026. An evening dedicated to the culture of work, the roots of the territory, and the profound relationship between man, land, and wine. This is the underlying theme of "Stories of Men and Wines – I Am My Work," an evening event scheduled for September 5th, starting at 7:30 pm at the Palavittoria in Cabella Ligure, starring Pino Petruzzelli, actor and director of the Teatro Nazionale di Genova.
The event combines theatrical narration and the promotion of the local winemaking tradition, through a guided tasting of Timorasso, organized in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Tortonesi, to reveal the historical, cultural, and identity-building value of one of the iconic grape varieties of the Tortonesi Hills.
The evening will begin at 7:30 pm with a tasting and introduction to Timorasso, an opportunity to explore the characteristics of a grape variety
deeply tied to its land and the work of its producers. This journey will lead the audience into the theatrical dimension of Pino Petruzzelli's show.
In "Stories of Men and Wines - I Am My Job," Petruzzelli tells the
extraordinary story of Dionigi, a winemaker who transformed a lifelong dream into excellence, facing the challenges of a harsh land with tenacity, passion, and respect
for his roots.
"As a child, they usually tell you you were born under a cabbage, but my mother gave birth to me in the vineyard during the grape harvest. The first thing I saw when I was born was a bunch of grapes. Scholars call it imprinting, but I call it destiny..."

The show is the result of two years of interviews with winemakers and thus becomes much more than a story about wine: it is a reflection on the value of work, memory, and the transmission of knowledge between generations.

Dionigi's story spans hail and drought, dry stone walls to rebuild, vineyards, his grandparents' olive trees, bureaucracy, and the daily challenges of those who choose to cultivate the land. Wine becomes the synthesis of all this: not just a product, but the result of a profound connection between nature, man, culture, and the land.

The theme of the show engages in a particularly meaningful way with the Timorasso tasting, creating a bridge between the theatrical narrative and the production reality of the Tortona Hills. Wine thus becomes a tool for telling the story of a community, its history, and
the wealth of knowledge that still lives on in the work of winemakers today.
The initiative is also part of "Cabella Estate – Territorial Development Project through Stories, Flavors, and Paths of the Apennines," a program dedicated to promoting and enhancing the Apennine region through culture, food and wine, narration of places, and discovery of the landscape.
The project is funded by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di
Alessandria as part of the TERRE BELLE 2026 call for proposals, which supports initiatives that connect the region's cultural, environmental, and food and wine resources and
strengthen its attractiveness.
The evening of September 5th is therefore an event where theater, wine, and the region come together to tell a single story: that of a land that lives through the people who cultivate it, inhabit it, and preserve its memory.
