ASSAGGIA TORTONA 2026 - food and wine festival

Nineteen restaurateurs, fifteen winemakers, twenty-seven local producers, and five craft breweries, spread across over sixty stands and trucks along the central Via Emilia in Tortona, will be the protagonists of AssaggiaTortona e dintorni (Taste Tortona and Surroundings), a traditional food and wine festival now in its thirtieth year. The city promotes this event annually with the aim of showcasing the region's excellent products, from the land to the table.

Following the resounding success of recent editions, AssaggiaTortona e dintorni (Taste Tortona and Surroundings) once again celebrates the intersection of products, dishes, wines, and beers, the fruit of the passion, care, and commitment of Tortona-based businesses.

A journey of excellence in the agri-food landscape that, year after year, has gained a prominent role far beyond the local borders. The event offers the public the opportunity to taste dishes that showcase traditional ingredients, expertly paired with Tortona wines, now recognized and appreciated on tables around the world.

This will allow visitors to embark on an authentic journey through the flavors of the region, enjoying fragrant Tortona strawberries, Volpedo peaches, Bella di Garbagna cherries, and honey, either plain or as the refined protagonists of dishes that blend tradition and innovation. Alongside these delicacies, there will also be room for great local classics, such as Nobile del Giarolo salami, tomas, goat cheeses, and the renowned Montebore, along with many other specialties.

All this will be accompanied by a selection of wines from the Tortona Hills, with a wide selection ranging from fine whites—such as the prestigious Derthona Timorasso and Cortese—to traditional reds, including Barbera and Croatina, for a complete and engaging tasting experience. Agriculture and traditional cuisine are a true cultural heritage of the Tortona area, rooted in the passion, professionalism, ingenuity, and imagination of the sector's professionals, whom AssaggiaTortona e dintorni supports at every edition.

There will also be plenty of entertainment for families, thanks to initiatives promoted by the VerdeCommerce Educational Farm and the Piemonte Bricks Association, as well as musical events in Piazza Malaspina and Piazza Duomo, with DJ sets and concerts by the Accademia Civica L. Perosi. Art lovers will have the opportunity to visit the city's various museums free of charge, from the MA.DE. from the Quadreria di Palazzo Guidobono, from the exclusive Divisionism Museum to the Diocesan Museum, from the Maritime Museum to the unique Atelier Sarina (an exhibition space dedicated to the world of puppetry).

The "Viaggiamo con i libri-Libri dal vivo 2026" festival will be held at the civic library during the same period. This initiative aims to highlight and publicize the city's leading local authors, who contribute to celebrating the region's excellence.
