2025-26 Theater Season in Arquata Scrivia and Gavi - "Rehearsal for Revolutions"

REVOLUTION: A radical and profound change in a system—political, social, economic, scientific, cultural—that can be rapid or a long-term process that marks a substantial transformation.
Have you ever experienced a revolution?
We think so.
You experienced one every time you changed houses, jobs, husbands, and wives.
You experienced a revolution every time you decided to wait for a song on the radio to finish before getting out of the car, every time you bought a book, every time you avoided parking in a disabled space, every time you joined a gym.
It only counts if you actually attended it.
Our new season is about precisely this: the small revolutions each of us can make every day, and the larger ones that affect the entire community.
You will experience the stories of women who defied fascism by playing soccer, of those who challenged indifference and abuse by recounting the victims of asbestos, of those who—as accomplished musicians—left the big city for the Borbera Valley, continuing to live from music and agriculture. You will enter the lives of those who, with poetry, created flowers from pain, of those who, with cutting irony, describe a delirious country, of those who, with biting and acidic humor, take us on a slapstick conversation about patriarchy, capitalism, and Gaza.
And then, what's more revolutionary than a woman who challenges the most masculine system in existence and manages to get elected Pope,
or rather... Popess?
Well, perhaps something even more revolutionary than all this,
indeed, there is something.
It's the women and men, the boys and girls who take to the streets, or cross the Mediterranean, to shout loudly that every war is unacceptable and unjustifiable.
Vincenzo Ventriglia, artistic director
and the entire staff of the Teatro della Juta and the Civic Theatre of Gavi.
