An edition of the Perosi Festival of exceptional historical, artistic, and spiritual significance is underway, created entirely to mark the 70th anniversary of the death of the celebrated Tortona composer and Master of the Sistine Chapel, Lorenzo Perosi. This solemn tribute coincides with another milestone of great significance for the city: the 10th anniversary celebration of the Festival's new edition, a decade-long journey of cultural rebirth that has brought Perosi's work back to the center of the local and national concert scene.

The Festival aims to enhance and explore Maestro Perosi's immense legacy, offering a high-profile program that unites the local community with prestigious national tours and international collaborations, promoting culture as a common, accessible, and supportive good.

The program for this historic edition combines outstanding events in Tortona Cathedral with exceptional national tours to Italy's major basilicas and theaters:

Cathedral Concerts in Tortona

Sunday, September 27 – 5:30 PM | Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem Mass. A monumental symphonic and choral event that solemnly opens the Festival.

Sunday, October 18 – 6:00 PM | "Petite Messe Solennelle" by Gioachino Rossini. Rossini's extraordinary masterpiece performed in exquisite instrumental and vocal form.

Sunday, November 8 – 6:00 PM | Concert by the Guillou Consort. An evening of profound musical spirituality entirely dedicated to the sacred liturgy.

On the program: Requiem Mass "Leone XIII" by Lorenzo Perosi and the Mass of Glory to Leo XIV composed by Maestro Miserachs.

Sunday, December 6 – 5:30 PM | Concert of the Immaculate Conception. An exceptionally important event featuring the great music of Perosi, enriched by historic performances.
On the program: Dies Iste (Cantata for soloists, choir, and orchestra by Lorenzo Perosi) and, in a world premiere, Psalm I for soprano, choir, and orchestra by the Tortona composer.

Prestigious National Tours and Celebrations

November 21 and 22 | Rome (Special Tour)
November 21: Solemn concert at the PIMS (Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music) with a performance of the Requiem of Leo XIII (Perosi) and the Mass of Glory of Leo XIV (Miserachs).
November 22: Celebration of Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, accompanied by the music of the Secunda Pontificalis by Lorenzo Perosi.

November 28 and 29 | Venice, Teatro La Fenice
Official inauguration of the Concert Season with Perosi's grandiose oratorio "The Last Judgement."
