Palazzo delle Poste (Post Office building) and Casa del Mutilato (House of the Mutilated) of Alessandria are presented to the public as part of Promotion Days, initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Culture.

As part of Promotion Days, initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Culture, aimed at opening sites to the
public which are usually inaccessible and sites undergoing development, the Superintendency of Archaeology,
Fine Arts and landscape for the provinces of Alessandria Asti and Cuneo, in association with Poste Italiane
and with Confindustria Alessandria, will offer the public a special tour of Palazzo delle Poste (Post Office Building) and Casa del Mutilato (House
of the Mutilated), two key buildings of 20th century Alessandria. The ancient and recent history of the latest
restoration and recovery work will be explained by the architects and art historians who have personally
carried out a high level of supervision of these protected assets.
The tour of the Post office building will be the opportunity to illustrate the recent works carried out
on the building, which have combined the needs of safety and efficiency
with those of protection
and conservation of the meaningful elements for the historical artistic value;
these include
the artistic contributions by Gino Severini which will be explored in-depth, with the great mosaic of the façade and
the mural painting of Giulio Rosso, placed in the Writing Room, which will be
open for the
occasion.
At the House of the Mutilated the visitor will be taken inside the site under development, promoted by
Confindustria Alessandria and supported by the financial contribution of the Ministry of Culture,
to discover the details of the project of Venanzio Guerci, but also the revealed secretes of the mural paintings by Morando
and Caffassi which are undergoing restoration.
The sites will be open to the public on Saturday 11 October 2025, with
free entry which will occur in
3 distinct shifts, upon compulsory booking and until full numbers are
reached for each group,
necessarily limited for safety reasons.
The free tours accompanied by the officials of the Superintendency Francesca Lupo, Rossana Netti and Gloria
Viale will take place in the morning at the Post Office building (9:15 a.m. 10:30 a.m. 11:45 a.m.) and, in the afternoon, at the
House of the Mutilated. Here, in addition to the representative of the property Confindustria Alessandria,
the designers Arch. Chiara Guala and Ing. Fabio Figini and the restorer Domenico Gazzana, involved
in the work underway (2:15 p.m. 3.30 p.m. 4:45 p.m.), will also be present.
