Orpheus's Shipyard - Conversations for Two Violins

In the evocative setting of the Church of San Lorenzo, the sixth event of the early music series Il Cantiere di Orfeo coincides with the first of three concerts entitled "Conversations for Two Violins," dedicated to this particular instrumentation in various eras. The first concert focuses on the Baroque period, a journey entirely dedicated to the trio sonata form, in which two violins intertwine, supported by the basso continuo of the cello, harpsichord, and Baroque harp. The program combines Vivaldi's masterpieces and Roman Johan Helmich's Duet in A Minor with contemporary Baroque works by Conservatory teachers and students (Sergio Lanza, Fernando De Luca, Riccardo Dell'Anno, and Elia Fumagalli). The performance will be led by Claudio Andriani's Baroque violin classes.
