Sunday, September 6 (6 pm) – Casale Monferrato (Piazza Mazzini): “Cantata for Francesco Guccini.”

Tuesday, September 8 (9 pm) – Mirabello Monferrato (Country Sport Village, Strada Comunia 30): Finale of the Monferrato Music Contest, under the patronage of the Province of Alessandria. Competing: Alba, Bailenga, Mosi, Soloselena, and Velvet Mountain. Free admission.

Thursday, September 10 (6:30 pm) – Alessandria (Andando e Stando Bookstore, Via Bissati 14): Meeting with Emidio Clementi (leader of Massimo Volume). Free admission.

Thursday, September 24 (9 pm) – Alessandria (Di noi tre, Via Plana 15): Linda Antosiano in "Singing to Keep from Crying (Song Theater, or Something Like It)." Free admission.

Friday, September 25 (9 pm) – Alessandria (L'Officina, Largo Catania 17): DJ set by Boosta (Subsonica), preceded by a talk. Admission €12.

Sunday, September 27 (4:30 pm) – Castelletto Monferrato (Piazza Astori): Agnese Valle in concert for the AccademiaMonferrato Open Day. Free admission.

EVENTS

The event will begin with a tribute to Giorgio Faletti on Thursday the 3rd at 9 pm in Quarti di Pontestura with the presentation of the book "Io dico" (Gallucci Editore) with his wife, Roberta Bellesini Faletti, editor of the volume together with Chiara Buratti. "Io dico" (I Say) collects quotes and thoughts from novels, interviews, songs, and previously unpublished material: Faletti recounts his own voice as an artist, character, and person. The evening will feature various presentations by Ramona Bruno and Mario Saldì. The event is organized with Polisportiva Quarti and will be held at its headquarters on Strada Rollini. Free admission.

On Sunday, September 6th, at 6:00 pm, Piazza Mazzini in Casale Monferrato will be transformed into a large space for Francesco Guccini. This gathering, open to all, will celebrate the singer-songwriter's artistic and human legacy. Anyone, without having to be a professional musician, can join in by bringing their own voice and, if desired, guitars, tambourines, signs with song lyrics, or drawings. The initiative is promoted in collaboration with Radio in fiore. To register to perform: monferrautore@gmail.com

The final of the Monferrato Music Contest, a competition dedicated to young singer-songwriters from the province of Alessandria, will take place on September 8th. The competition will feature Alba from Alessandria, Bailenga from Alessandria/Novi Ligure, Mosi from Alessandria, Soloselena from Valenza, and Velvet Mountain from Casale Monferrato. The final will begin at 9:00 PM at the Country Sport Village in Mirabello Monferrato (at Strada Comunia 30), the organizer of the event conceived and directed by Enrico Deregibus with the support of RadioGold and AccademiaMonferrato, and the patronage of the Province of Alessandria. The winner, chosen by a jury of journalists and industry professionals, will receive a €500 prize to support their musical career, as well as the opportunity to perform in various venues across the province over the following months and other bonuses. A special prize will also be awarded by a jury of young people. Free admission.

On Thursday, September 10th, at 6:30 pm, Emidio Clementi, novelist, musician, author, and leader of Massimo Volume, a key figure in Italian alternative culture, will present his latest novel, "Prima dell'incendio" (Playground), in a conversation with Enrico Deregibus that will touch on his entire journey through music, literature, and theater. The event is organized in collaboration with the "Adelio Ferrero" film club and will take place at the Andando e Stando bookshop (Via Giuseppe Bissati 14) in Alessandria. Free admission.

The event will continue on Thursday, September 24th at 9:00 pm with a world premiere performance, combining music and lyrics, by Linda Antosiano, previously known only as a singer under the stage name Linn. The title is "Canto per non piangere (Teatro canzone o circa)," a constant exchange of dramatic songs and comic monologues, scheduled for the Di noi tre in Alessandria (Via Giovanni Plana 15). Free admission.

The following day, Friday, September 25th, again in Alessandria but at Officina (Largo Catania 17), there will be a DJ set by Boosta, aka Davide Dileo, founder, songwriter, and keyboardist of Subsonica. This will be preceded at 9:00 PM by a talk where the musician will share his artistic journey, offering anecdotes and reflections. His DJ set will be a sophisticated mix of electronic music and atmospheric narration. Admission is €12.

On Sunday, September 27th, at 4:30 PM, the event will move to Castelletto Monferrato in Piazza Astori for a concert by Agnese Valle, part of the AccademiaMonferrato music school's Open Day. A Roman singer-songwriter and clarinetist, she has been a finalist for the Targhe Tenco several times and is the vocal coach on the TV show "Amici." She has released four albums and collaborated with numerous others, including Francesco De Gregori, Cristina Donà, and others. Free admission.

THE EVENT

Monferr'Autore is a multifaceted festival, combining singer-songwriter music, rock, and folk, as well as theater, cinema, humor, literature, and more, often featuring guest speakers in a live journalism format. All this highlights the Monferrato region (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and its surroundings, encompassing numerous municipalities along a route through hills, rice paddies, and the Po River, just an hour from Turin, Milan, and Genoa.

The festival is made possible by the support of the municipalities of Balzola, Conzano, Gamalero (with the San Lorenzo Literary Festival), Lu Cuccaro Monferrato, Occimiano, Pontestura, Rivarone, Treville, and Volpedo (with the Peach Flowers Festival), as well as by Circolo Ferrero, the Kristalli and L’Officina multiplexes in Alessandria, the Country Sport Village in Mirabello Monferrato, Pantagruel in Casale Monferrato, the AccademiaMonferrato Musica&Danza in Castelletto Monferrato, and, outside the province, the Valsusa Film Fest.

THE ORGANIZATION

Monferr’Autore inherits the name of a previous festival that took place between 2005 and 2007. The artistic director was Enrico Deregibus, a journalist and director or consultant for numerous festivals and awards throughout Italy.

Among the many events he has curated over the years in the province of Alessandria is the PeM festival, whose artistic directorship he stepped down from at the end of 2025 after eleven years. He has brought to the festival, among many others, Ditonellapiaga, Valerio Lundini, Gad Lerner, Arturo Brachetti, Manuel Agnelli, Diodato, Nuzzo and Di Biase, Morgan, Paola Turci, Malika Ayane, Irene Grandi, Luca Barbarossa, Oscar Farinetti, Diego De Silva, Gene Gnocchi, Willie Peyote, Nada, Samuel of Subsonica, Enrico Ruggeri, Vasco Brondi, and dozens of others.

AccademiaMonferrato Musica&Danza is an association that has been organizing professional music courses for children and adults at its headquarters in Castelletto Monferrato for over 10 years. It also promotes and directs workshops, masterclasses, and events in the Monferrato area related to folk music and dance, among other things.
