From 18 September 2026 to 20 September 2026
The Civic Library at Via Marconi 66 is preparing to host a must-see event for all postal history and collecting enthusiasts. This is the national exhibition "The Reds in the City of Chocolate," promoted by the Italian Association of Mechanical Postage Collectors (AICAM) in collaboration with the City of Novi Ligure, the "G. Capurro" Municipal Cultural Center, the Maglietto Association, and the Beekeeping Museum. The exhibition, with free admission, will offer the public a fascinating journey dedicated to the famous mechanical postage impressions, traditionally known as "reds." On Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th, visitors will be able to admire a real franking machine in action and receive free commemorative postcards created for the event.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, September 19th at 9:30 a.m. (Official opening at 10:30 a.m.). The exhibition will be open until 12:30 PM and in the afternoon from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. On Sunday, September 20th, the exhibition will be open from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, also offering a collectors' exchange meeting in the afternoon.
Further enriching the initiative will be a preview on Friday, September 18th at 8:45 PM in the Library's Conference Room, where Lorenzo Oliveri will host the meeting "The DIY Stamp (Our Reds)," an opportunity for everyone to learn more about these fascinating postal documents.
In addition to the rich program of exhibitions and educational events open to the public, on the morning of Sunday, September 20th, starting at 10:30 AM, the Civic Library will host the works of the Assembly and the 44th AICAM National Congress, an institutional opportunity for members of the association from all over Italy to meet and discuss.
