Ennio Morricone: the genius, the man, the father

The legendary structure of the Museo dei Campionissimi couldn't have been a more fitting location for the kickoff of the 26th edition of the International Lavagnino Film Festival "Music & Cinema."
It kicks off on September 19th at 9:00 PM with the event titled "ENNIO MORRICONE. THE GENIUS, THE MAN, THE FATHER!" A journey through a life and behind-the-scenes story revealed, a never-before-told Ennio Morricone, curated by Marco Morricone (the Maestro's eldest son, who, since the 1990s, has followed his father's concert career, accompanying him around the world).
The artistic and human figure of one of the greatest composers in the history of world cinema is celebrated through the testimony of his son Marco, who will also be interviewed by film critic Roberto Lasagna (Artistic Director of the Adelio Ferrero Cinema e Critica Festival).
Between stories and films, the Soloists of the Classical Orchestra of Alessandria will perform famous soundtracks: Once Upon a Time in America, A Fistful of Dollars, Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, and more.

Marco Morricone will receive the 2026 "Lavagnino Cultura Award."

Thanks to the Municipality of Novi Ligure, the Museo dei Campionissimi, and the support of the CRAL Foundation of Alessandria, the CRT Foundation of Turin, and numerous sponsors.
Entrance is by donation provided by the Gavi Libarna Rotary Club in support of early breast and urological diagnosis.
