Preview of Vendemmia in Arte

On Saturday 4 October several preview events are planned for the 30th edition of Vendemmia in Arte (which is held in the village of Rosignano Monferrato the following day, Sunday 5 October).

Walk among the hills in search of edible herbs (‘foraging’) with Chef Giacomo Mosca: an experience to rediscover nature and its resources, learning to recognize and pick wild edible plants, how to cook and, finally…. taste them with the Chef of Casa Cassano, during Vendemmia in Arte, at the Restaurant of Casa Cassano.
The 5 km walk takes place on dirt roads; it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and sports shoes. The meeting point is piazza Faletti fifteen minutes before departure.

participation in Contemporary Art Day 2025

Curated by Francesca Boi, the exhibition presents watercolor drawings and paintings: the themes include the famous “horses”, the nudes inspired by classicism, and the religious themes such as Crucifixions. Furthermore, guests of the prestigious exhibition are several sculptures by Lino Monopoli of Crema, international artist of the project, inspired by the fairy tales of Carlo Collodi, “Pinocchio VagaMondo”, also for the joy and pleasure of children.
The exhibition is running until November and is open to visitors at weekends.

Poetry in dialect of Casale by Paolo Testa

Circolo Culturale Ravasenga of Casale, under the patronage of the Municipality of Rosignano Monferrato, in association with Comitato A.N.D.O.S. of Casale Monferrato and with talks by Mauro Bardella and Sandro Martinotti, presents the collection of poems in the dialect of Casale by Paolo Testa “Ah… l’amour!”. The publication gathers thirty or so poems by the author from Casale which share the theme of love in its various forms of romantic love, but also of passion for one's land and for the people of Monferrato. Some of these poems have already been published in previous collections, others have been read but never published, others are still unpublished. This lovely collection of poems is taken from a large body of Paolo Testa’s work, which has always been shared with the public at shows and readings. And the public has always responded enthusiastically, because Testa’s poetry speaks directly to the soul of Monferrato of the people of this land and, as it always happens when it is in dialect, this whispering to feelings takes on an important literary value, as many famous writers have always claimed referring to the use of dialect in literature. Each territory embeds its language roots in dialect which becomes the guardian of terms and idioms, pillar of a linguistic system refined by the passing of time. Those who write using dialect authentically are recognized immediately: the mere translation into dialect (and vice versa) makes it lose its poetic meaning immediately: rhyme, which Testa makes ample use of in his verses, becomes the clear proof of how the stylistic game would never be possible if it weren’t conceived in dialect. This discussion also includes Testa’s position who tends not to recognize one Piedmontese language, but rather that mosaic of dialects each of which represents a scrap of land with those typical features which must not be lost and which distinguish it as shades of color. As if to say that the culture of a place necessarily passes through its dialect and the poetry collection like that of Testa will remain as a testimony to build the identity of this people. In fact the author has a past of ample production made of publications and awards: In fact, the author has a long list of publications and awards to his name: in dialect he has published the collections of poems: Quaich surìs ant al magon” (1982), “La to vus” (2002, with a preface by Bruno Gambarotta) and “Puesij sbardlaj” (2022); in 2013, he published “L’Arsetàri dla Granda” - ricette scelte, raccolte o carpite dalla tradizione popolare contadina - and in 2025 his latest anthology "Ah...l'amour!". In 1990, in Italian he published “Viaggio attraverso i secoli tra leggenda, cronaca e poesia”; for young people “Filastrali - filastrocche di animali” (2007). To mark the Centenary of the Unification of Italy the story “Quel sabato di fine marzo” inspired by the Defense of Casale of 1849. In 2015, to mark the 70th anniversary of the Liberation, he printed the story "Una nota di colore”. In 2018, the collection of fairy tales “L’uva del diavolo e altre storie” with the preface by Guido Quarzo. In 2019, the collection of stories “La magia del Natale”. In 2022, the stories “I casi del Brigadiere Agenore Antelmi” and in 2024 the collection of articles “Tracce di memoria”. The publication will be distributed in Rosignano, for a donation and the proceeds will go to Comitato Casalese A.N.D.O.S. Odv (Associazione Nazionale Donne Operate al Seno).
