IN THE VALLEY OF MOSCATO PASSITO WINE (FEAT. FOOD AND WINE ROAD OF GRAN MONFERRATO)

Hiking trail in a small area of Southern Monferrato home to Moscato Passito Strevi DOC, one of the most famous dessert or meditation wines of Italy. In the Bagnario Valley, documents date the first production to 1078 and today the grapes are still sun-dried on racks before ageing in barrels. An ancient technique, considered among the longest wine-making practices in Piedmont, handed down and refined thanks to the commitment of local winemakers in the Association of producers of Moscato Passito of the Bagnario Valley. In 2000, the Moscato Passito of Strevi was recognized as Presidio Slow Food and, in 2005, it received the Denomination of Controlled Origin "Strevi". Along the way, stop at the moscato yellow Big Bench 21 and wine tasting at a winery on the Aromatic Road.
