Vinciguerra Vittorio is a true institution in the historic center of Alessandria. It was opened in 1923 by Vittorio Vinciguerra on via Milano but in a different position, closer to piazzetta della Lega. The current premises was purchased a few years later, around 1928. Vittorio initially began as a watchmaker and the store sells a bit of everything: watches, thermometers and some eyewear. The business is slowly beginning to specialize in the latter, abandoning the
other sectors.
The current Vinciguerra are the third generation of this wonderful tale of city trade: since 1986, Giuseppe has been joined by his daughter
Giuliana.
The store underwent a major renovation in 1982.
The business, which focuses on quality, has customers come from Alessandria, but also from other provinces and regions. Famous customers have included Fausto Coppi, Fred Buscaglione and Gianni Versace.
