Cascina San Leto was set up in 1929, when the Ricci family decided to purchase and plant six hectares of vineyards (timorasso, cortese, croatina and barbera) in the municipality of Costa Vescovato. Since the 1990s the winery has been managed full time by Daniele, who left his job to dedicate himself to the cultivation of the vineyard, a passion handed down by his grandparents and his father Filippo. The change of pace is immediate, he invests in Timorasso converting 8 hectares of vineyard and transforming production to organic. The big change occurs in the wine cellar with long maceration on skins, spontaneous fermentation and the use of steel tanks and amphorae which produce complex wines with magnificent aromas and structured on the palate.
The desire to improve continues and the ability to wait for his wines make this vigneron one of the most highly considered wine producers.
In the Carlo Daniele Ricci company, Daniele has been working alongside his son Mattia to whom he has transmitted his passion for winemaking, meticulous care and attention in the vineyard and the flair for creating his own wines.
