The village rises among the vine planted hills and its economy has been based on wine for many centuries. Most wine producers are part of the Tre Secoli winery, but others are also independent wine growers who produce excellent wines.

Ricaldone, similar to most villages of Monferrato, has ancient origins. Historians agree that the name is the meaning of two words, Runcus and Aldo or better Adonis. The first has several meanings, but here it is given that of fallow land, bush land. The second indicates the name of the Germanic Aldo, head of the Lombard ethnic group who was present here in the 17th century. The union of the two words means the "bush land of the German Aldo".

The history of the village follows that of the territory, but it can be said that three noble families marked its fate, namely the Canelli family, the lords of Ricadono and the lords of Cuccaro, the Colombo; however, many lordships and feudal lords divided up the land at various times, continuing until the end of the 18th century.

The original parish church was found right at the entrance to the town and named after Saint Michael, in the 16th century this was replaced by the larger Church Dei Santi Simone and Guida Taddeo with four naves. The interior features marble altars with stucco decorations and 17th-century canvases. In July 2022, "L'isola in collina" was held, a long-standing event organized by the Luigi Tenco association and dedicated to the artist. He was born in Cassine, but spent his childhood in Ricaldone, and is buried in the local cemetery since 1967. It is one of the most important Italian events dedicated to singer-songwriting.
Tourist attractions: Church of Santi Simone e Giuda dating to the first half of the 16th century, home to beautiful paintings and frescoes; the chapels of Our Lady of the Rosary and San Giuseppe and the Museum dedicated to the singer-songwriter Luigi Tenco. On the road towards Maranzana, the burgundy and white Big Bench.

The town is also home to the Museum dedicated to the singer-songwriter and the permanent documentation center of Luigi Tenco.
