Gremiasco is a small town that grew up around the Malaspina Castle and the Baroque church (completed in 1712), which still retains its bell tower and chapel, intended to house the Blessed Sacrament, in a distinctly Romanesque style. It connects the rolling hills, dotted with rocky peaks in Guardamonte, an important archaeological site.
The town is comprised of numerous hamlets, including Colombassi (where there is a sanctuary), Codevico, Solaro, Stemigliano (where there are ancient oratories, still well-maintained today), Castagnola (known for its woods rich in mushrooms and, of course, chestnuts), and Musigliano, where, on clear days, the horizon opens up to the Alps and the sea, offering the observer a truly breathtaking panorama.
