A small hilltop community of medieval origins. The name Frascaro most likely derives from the term "frasca," as it was founded near the forest. The village is first mentioned in 1192 as a fiefdom belonging to the Guasco di Bisio family, who held it until July 19, 1819, when they ceded it to the Bishop of Alessandria. Along dirt paths, which allow visitors to discover the magic of a vibrant environment in every season, untouched by human activity and characterized by a constant and abundant wildlife, you can admire small birds and mammals, especially hares and squirrels, but also shy roe deer. The hamlet of Tacconotti is particularly beautiful, with its pristine environment and charming country church.
