The municipality of Casasco, located on a hill that divides the Curone and Grue valleys, spans both valleys. The first historical records of Casasco date back to documents from the 9th and 10th centuries, where the town is listed as a "domusculta" of the Bobbio Monastery. In 1100, it passed into the hands of the Bishop of Tortona, who entrusted its jurisdiction to the noble Opizzone family, owners of the castle. Over the centuries, the town fell into the hands of various noble families, most recently the Marquises Bussetti, whose colors appear in the municipal coat of arms. Among the notable figures worthy of mention are the Cerutti family, from Genoa, who brought drinking water, electricity, and the telephone to the town. Among the buildings worth mentioning are the new church of the capital, including the lowered area of the old church, which was completed in 1928 and which still has a Romanesque cross fixed into the wall of the old church, and the bell tower (1920). The economy is based on agriculture: high-quality wine and fruit are produced.
