Alice Bel Colle is a village situated 8 km from Acqui surrounded by a picturesque UNESCO world heritage vineyard landscape. Its origins date to the medieval period, when it was founded as a fiefdom. Throughout the centuries, it passed from the Counts of Acquesana to the Marquises of Occimiano and later to the municipality of Alessandria and to the Marquises of Monferrato. In 1533, Carlo V assigned it arbitrarily to Federico Gonzaga of Mantua, while in 1708, it became part of the Savoy domain.

The village is split into two hamlets, the oldest situated on the hill and the newest one further down the valley called Alice Stazione. The main square of the high hamlet is home to the parish church of San Giovanni Battista, the Municipal Hall and the remains of an ancient castle, where today the panoramic tower offers an all-round view of the valleys, Alpine Arch, and the surrounding villages. The vine is cultivated primarily in the lower part of the village, where there are different wine cooperatives and craft activities. In the nearby areas the baroque church of Santa Maria della Fraschetta and the pink Big Bench.
