The name Schella comes from scodella, which means cup and indicates the area rich in water which has given the plants to possibility to grow lush, rich in vineyards for wine production. Today, it has resumed the historic significance to mark the hospitality offered by Convents to tired travelers and for this purpose they exhibited an earthenware cup outside.
