THEATRICAL WALK IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF GUGLIELMO CACCIA

On Sunday 5 October, at 3 p.m. , as part of the initiatives to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the death of
Guglielmo Caccia, born Il Moncalvo, the Cultural Heritage Office of the Diocese of Casale in
association with the Collettivo theater company are organizing a theatrical walk in the
footsteps of one of the best-known painters of Monferrato. The route will wind its way through
some of the sites of Casale Monferrato which had a special connection to the painter and are still
home to important testimonies of his work; here, the public will have the opportunity to immerse itself
in the atmosphere of the late 16th and early 17th centuries and to become acquainted with the painter’s art
and life through dialogues and monologues interpreted by the actors and actresses. The initiative
will include an itinerary divided into five stages which participants will travel led by the personnel of the Cultural
Heritage Office. The sites include the magnificent Church of the Confraternity of San Michele in
which restoration work has just been completed so it can be admired in all
its
beauty.
