On May 24, Bicincittà, the urban bike ride with FIAB Alessandria, UISP, and the Municipality, will feature the special participation of Roberta Amadeo, multiple world handbike champion and vice president of AISM. She will be the focus of an opening talk and will serve as the group's special starter with her handbike.

FIAB Alessandria and UISP are joining forces to organize a special day dedicated to promoting active mobility and creating safer and more accessible streets for all. On May 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the "Bimbimbici & Bicincittà" event will start from Piazza Santa Maria di Castello.
The initiative, part of the national program of FIAB and UISP, involves girls and boys, young people, and adults
in a city bike ride that promotes the use of the bicycle as a sustainable and healthy means of transportation.
Included in the official calendar of events related to the Giro d'Italia – during the Alessandria stage –
the event will feature the extraordinary and exciting participation of Roberta Amadeo, eight-time world champion in handcycling, vice president of AISM, and an international figurehead for
inclusive sport. A firsthand testimony to the values of sport, health, and prevention, Amadeo will pedal alongside the participants and, before the start, will be the subject of a public interview on the key
topics of the day: active mobility, road safety, and inclusion.
The route will start from Piazza Santa Maria di Castello and end at the Pump Track at Via San Giovanni Bosco 35, where a festive atmosphere is expected with entertainment activities and refreshments provided by the organizing associations in collaboration with Madi Ventura S.p.A.
Numerous local organizations will participate: Il Sole dentro, the AcdB Alessandria Città delle Biciclette Museum,
Alessandria University Hospital, ASL AL, the Sine Limes Association, the La Ruota Cooperative, and the Mobility Council, with the patronage of the City of Alessandria.
Safety is a priority: the event will be escorted by Red Cross and Green Cross bicycle patrols, with the support of the I BRIC 2.0 cycling group.
Everyone is invited to participate by bringing whistles, cowbells, drums, and trumpets, to accompany the route with a sound signal broadcast along the city streets. In case of rain at the start, the event will be postponed.
Participation is free and open. The ride is not suitable for children under 5 years of age
using their own transportation.
“Bimbimbici – Bicincittà” brings together two national events: Bimbimbici, promoted by FIAB to promote cycling among young people, and Bicincittà, a historic UISP initiative founded in 1985 and which over the years has become one of the most popular in Italy, involving thousands of people of all ages.
