On Sunday 5 October, the municipality of Ticineto will celebrate the patron saint with the inauguration of the cultural event “Arte Zoom”. This initiative,
conceived and presented by the
licensed tour guide, Anna Maria Bruno, aims to offer an insight into
the artists and the art works
that embellish the area of Monferrato.
The event is realized thanks to the collaboration of Circolo Culturale “Ermanno Aceto”, presided over by Angela Merlo Romussi, and the parish of
Ticineto, led by Don Samuele
Battistella, with the patronage of the Municipality of Casale Monferrato. This has allowed the organization of an event of high cultural value, which includes
the special opening of two churches of
particular historic and artistic interest.
The two churches selected are home to works by Pier Francesco Guala, undisputed master of
painting in 18th-century Casale. Considered by many critics “a European presence among the
Monferrato hills”, Guala is the protagonist of this tour which will highlight his artistic contribution
and the value of the works preserved in Ticineto, increasing the knowledge of this painter to
whom is dedicated an exhibition at the Civic Museum of Casale Monferrato.
The tour proposed to visitors will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday 5 October at the parish Church of Assunzione di Maria,
in piazza Fratelli Tabucchi. Here, it will be possible to admire the decorative richness of the sacred
building and, in particular, three important paintings by Guala:
Pentecost,
Saint Francis of Paola and Saint Michael the Archangel. The visit will continue at the small Church
of San Pietro Martire, which preserves another significant work by Guala: Madonna and Child
Enthroned with four Saints, namely St. Peter Martyr, Saint Siro, St. John the Baptist and Saint Anne.
The appointment will also be held in case of rain, participation is open to all and free.

“Arte Zoom” is a precious opportunity to discover and promote the artistic heritage of Ticineto
and Monferrato, by means of a guided tour which allows to appreciate close up
the beauty and
richness of works by Pier Francesco Guala, in the context of the local churches,
true treasure
troves of history and art.
