Description

An itinerary which departs from the town of Ovada, one of the most "Ligurian" towns of Piedmont, and from the nearby medieval villages that preserve ancient walls and majestic castles to reach the nearby Genoa with its maze of narrow streets and historical workshops, to discover one of the symbol products of Liguria, pesto. 

DAY 1

Guided tour of Ovada and its historic centre that has a typical Genoese appearance from centuries of relations and exchanges.

Stop for lunch and enjoy the famous farinata.

In the afternoon, shopping in the centre with stop at the Regional Wine shop of Ovada and of Monferrato to taste the wines and products of the territory.

Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation.

DAY 2 

Day dedicated to the visit of two of the most important castles of the area, the Castle of Tagliolo Monferrato and the Castle of Rocca Grimalda where besides the roms of the manor you can access their historic cellars and taste their famous wines

Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation.

DAY 3 

Departure for Genoa for a guided visit of the workshops which make the historic centre of the Ligurian capital unique. A maze of carruggi (narrow lanes) alternating with small and charming squares overlooked by churches linked to the most important noble families of Genoa. Together we will travel the medieval streets, noble roads and be able to admire the sumptuous palazzi and places with millenial charm, always accompanied by breathtaking views, perfumes and flavours from all over the world.

Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in B&B in the historic centre of Genoa. 

Day 4 

Breakfast in hotel and transfer by train to Rapallo with short tour of the town.

Meeting with Chef Guido in front of his shop, where the secrets of pesto will be revealed: "Pesto Show" accompanied by a glass of white wine and tasting of focaccia.

Return to Genoa by train, dinner at leisure and overnight accommdation in B&B.
