Speaking of food and wine tourism the first reference and thought goes to typical products, local culinary or wine traditions, unique flavours of a city or a province, ancient agricultural rites dating back to our ancestors or innovative approaches of new entrepreneurial generations.

BITEG – the International Food and Wine Tourism Exchange – is the most important national communication, promotion and sales event for wine and food tourism products and is sponsored by ENIT, the National Tourism Board. After eight editions in Riva del Garda, in Trentino, the brand was acquired in 2008 by the Region of Piedmont with the aim of developing and promoting internationally well-known Italian and Piedmontese resources, together with the associated outstanding wine, food and tourist products.

It is an app for Android and Apple smartphones developed by Rotary District 2032 (North Piedmont and Liguria) and “donated” to the public to help rediscover the sites in our Apennines which are now marginalised in terms of the main communication and commercial channels but rich in unspoilt nature, marked trails and a potentially highly attractive enogastronomic identity.
