Do you want me to dance, or do you want me to talk? This question, asked by Cristiana Morganti to a spectator, conceals one of the key interpretations of Jessica And Me, the show, which after the experience of last year with Poyo Rojo, re-proposes international dance on the stage of Valenza within the scope of the APRE season. In her show the historic dancer of the Tanztheater Wuppertal of Pina Bausch, stops to reflect on herself, on the relationship with her body and with dance, on the meaning of being on stage, on the meaning of "other than self" which doing theatre implies. What follows is a sort of self-portrait ideally with two voices (Jessica and me) of effective and unsettling irony, where Cristiana reveals what happens in the backstage of her professional career. A puzzle of gestures, shadows, muscles, perseverance, bravado, shyness, memories and projects.

Cristiana Morganti is a dancer and choreographer. She graduated in classical dance at the National Dance Academy of Rome and in contemporary dance at the Folkwang Hochschule of Essen. She works with Susanne Linke, Urs Dietrich, Felix Ruckert and with the company Neuer Tanz of VA Wölfl and Wanda Golonka. From 1993 to 2014 she is solo dancer of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch participating in the films Talk to her by Pedro Almodovar and Pina by Wim Wenders. In 2010, she begins her choreographic career creating the Conferenza Danzata Moving with Pina.

In 2014, with Jessica and Me she wins the Danza&Danza Award as best interpreter/choreographer. In 2016, the duo A Fury Tale, in 2017 the creation Non sapevano dove lasciarmi for the Aterballetto company and in 2019 Another Round for Five, a creation for 5 dancers. In 2020, she receives the Prix du Syndicat Professionel del la Critique francaise for Moving with Pina. In 2021 in Another Place is born, a site-specific performance created for the Museum of the Orangerie of Paris. In 2022, Cristiana Morganti creates her third solo Behind the Light which sees her on stage as author and interpreter. Immediately after her debut, she receives the ANCT Associazione Nazionale Critici Teatrali Award for her artistic career. In May 2023, she debuts Young Birds a creation for the Junior Company of Accademia Dimitri - Verscio - Switzerland.
