THEATRE OF SCIENCES AND PLANETARIUM
from 08 October 2023 to 18 February 2025
At the entrance to the Museum of Natural Sciences and Planetarium the visitor is welcomed by a description of the origin and evolution of planet Earth. The route continues with a journey inside the Earth, in which to observe and touch samples of rocks and see the most fascinating and spectacular volcanic eruptions. The exhibition section includes palaeontological, mineralogical, ornithological and entomological exhibits. At the centre of the nature room, visitors can admire a naturalistic diorama which reconstructs the river environment of the province of Alessandria and a transparent cylinder dedicated to the display of species of butterflies from around the world. Finally, it will be possible to listen to the sounds of nature of a circadian cycle thanks to an innovative eco-acoustic project, recorded and produced exclusively for the Museum of Natural Sciences of Alessandria. A variety of educational workshops are activated for schools and families, including those dedicated to astronomy, which are held between the Planetarium and the astronomical educational room. Under the cupola of the digital planetarium, it is possible to simulate the sun's path, the moon phase cycle, the motion of the planets and remain fascinated by a starry sky like in a clear night in the open air.
