From Friday 1 to Friday 29 March 2024, the "Francesca Calvo" Civic Library presents the historical-educational exhibition "La Costituzione italiana: un progetto per il futuro" realized with the collaboration of the association "Memoria Viva" of Canelli, for the lower and higher secondary schools of Alessandria, within the scope of activities to promote and stimulate the interest of students in contemporary history.

The exhibition is part of the cultural and civil training project on the Constitution geared to citizens, Municipalities, schools and associations, developed by the Association Memoria Viva of Canelli, with the cooperation of the regional Azione Cattolica of Piedmont-Valle d'Aosta.

Alongside the possibility of the usual visit dedicated to the knowledge of the history and the services of the Civic Library, this school year also offers an exhibition path which tackles the theme of the birth of the Constitution with a historical, legal and socio-cultural approach. Furthermore, the inauguration of the exhibition, scheduled for the morning of 1 March Friday, will be preceded by a conference for students, in preparation to the visit.

The exhibition, consisting of colorful panels with texts and QR-codes, is full of images (photographs, drawings, symbols) which accompany the text, and are suitable for educational use, to understand the meaning. In the first section, a series of panels also analyses the participation in the vote for the referendum on monarchy-republic and to elect the Constituent Assembly (2 June 1946), with reference to the local data (regional, provincial and of Alessandria in particular) and to the personal stories of the elected deputies. These elements are also suitable for educational use, a re-elaboration and comment by the students.

The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 1 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm to 6 pm.
